Judy Chicago

2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Judy Chicago’s Womanhouse, a revolutionary feminist art installation at Cal-Arts in 1972, created by Chicago and Miriam Shapiro and local artists, such as Faith Wilding. The project was part of Chicago and Shapiro’s pioneering feminist art program and it featured the transformation of a run-down house into a space filled with feminist art and live performance. To mark the occasion, Through the Flower, Chicago’s New Mexico-based nonprofit, is launching an art exhibition at their home in Belen, New Mexico, as well as an up-to-date recreation at a local venue. The exhibits will be on display June 18th through summer 2022. More at womanhouse2022.com.
