Reality Videos

Following the hit Israeli TV show “In Treatment” (B’Tipul), a new program is garnering avid fans in Israel. In Mehubarot (“Connected”), five women ages 16 though 42 were each given a video camera and agreed to document their personal lives by shooting at least an hour a day. The television series began daily broadcasts of 50 episodes based on these video diaries in May, and viewers say the show reveals, in a way seldom seen on screen, the intimate lives of a high schooler in Holon, a university student who is also a website sex symbol, a 36-year-old childless divorcee trying to decide about becoming a parent, a married journalist of 37 who seems to have it all and wonders if this is all there is, and the re-married 42-year-old mother of three daughters.
