Ella Feinberg died July 9 of asthma in Novisibirsk despite many years of desperate pleas by her parents to permit the family to emigrate to Arad, Israel, where treatment was available for her. Ella was 13 years old.

Malka Chudnovsky of Kiev is recuperating from a severe beating she and her ill husband, Wolf, sustained from the KGB as a parting “present” before being given permission to emigrate with their son Grisha. A mathematician, Grisha is dying of a nerve disorder.

Janna Bernstein, a Soviet immigrant to Israel, was reunited with her fiance, Vinnitsa activist Mikhail Mager, who just received his exit visa. Bernstein and Mager were married in Netanya, Israel.
