Honoring Gail Rubin

A new library-lecture hall was dedicated at Kibbutz Ma’agen Micha’el’s nature field school in honor of Gail Rubin, the wildlife photographer murdered by terrorists March 11, 1978 near the kibbutz (See LILITH 5). She had been photographing the many birds who come in from the sea to the kibbutz fish ponds. The new lecture hall replaces the small bomb shelter previously used by nature students. A book of Gail Rubin’s photographs is due to be published in September by Abbeyville Press.
