“Destroy All the JAPs”

A poem posted in a Westchester, N.Y., high school attacking “JAPs” [Jewish American Princesses] and suggesting threats of rape and mutilation has sparked a law suit to remove the perpetrator from his high school, the White Plains, NY, Reporter Dispatch reported in June.

According to the paper, a Scarsdale, N.Y., high school boy posted a poem on a Scarsdale High School bulletin board which read, in part, “I hate the way that you talk, I want to destroy all the JAPS, I think that you are stupid saps.”

In response, Arthur Morrison, a lawyer and the father of a female student at the school, is suing the school to have the boy expelled, the paper said. He told the Reporter Dispatch he brought the suit in the wake of several fatal schoolyard shootings in Oregon, Kentucky, Arkansas and Pennsylvania in the past nine months.

In an interview with the paper, the boy, unnamed, said the poem “was just a joke.” He also said the poem was not meant to be anti-Semitic, and that JAP refers to girls “who act bitchy,” the paper reported.
