Dangerous Women

What does it mean to be dangerous? The idea that women are dangerous individually or collectively permeates many historical periods, cultures and areas of contemporary life despite — and in some instances in response to — explicitly feminist movements. Begun March 2016, “A Year of Dangerous Women” is a joint initiative of the Institute of Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh and the Scottish Branch of PEN International. It plans to have curated 365 responses from women all over the world by International Women’s Day in March 2017.
